* Fitness, Citizen, and one other is required for the WEBELOS badge

** Fitness, Citizen, Readyman, Outdoorsman, one mental, one technology, one of your choice - Required for the Arrow of Light award

BEFORE he can earn the Webelos navy blue patch, he MUST earn his Religious Duties Award. Each religion is represented and have their own booklet of requirements a boy must complete. If by chance a boy is not associated with any religion there is an alternative he can complete. We use a pure white band for this award.

Now the boy is eligible to earn the Webelos Rank Badge. The Webelos patch is navy blue. We therefore use a navy blue color band on the arrow.

A Webelo can earn an award called COMPASS POINT EMBLEM. It is a light blue round patch that has a red compass design inside it....... thus the color we use is --- light blue with a red streak inside it.

Now - He can earn the coveted Arrow of Light AwardWe use yellow to paint the arrow of light symbol of the sun rising over a horizontal arrow.

There are two other awards he can earn:

1. Cub Scout World Conversation Award.....a purple patch with yellow background...so we use a purple band with a yellow streak.

2. Cub Scout Academic & Sports Program. This is where we use the silver and gold bands.   The Academic and Sports program is IN ADDITION to everything else and not a lot of time is available for boys to work on these.  I am always impressed when I paint lots of these stripes on some of the arrows.  GOOD JOB!!

Some of the activities associated with these programs are listed below. There may be others.  All I need to know is how many of each silver and gold bands for each boys arrow.  I do not need to know the actual activities each boy completed.
